Our Client the African Export-Import Bank AFREXIMBANK is looking to recruit for an Assistant Manager, Travel (Hotel Management) within the Bank Administration department in Cairo, Egypt. The role of the position holder will oversee the Hotel Management Program for the Bank and liaise with globally accredited hotel chains and suppliers to provide best-in-class service to the Bank’s Travelers, Guests, and VIPS.
Surveying and maintaining a comprehensive database of hotels in the various localities frequented by Bank Travelers and negotiate and conclude corporate agreements that confer preferential rates and treatment.
Ensuring the Bank’s preferred rates and suppliers are uploaded on the self-booking SAP Concur tool or any other designated bank system.
Coordinate all ground transportation arrangements, including receiving staffing transport needs and dispatching vehicles and drivers accordingly, and managing driver schedules.
Coordinate the calculation and payment of staff per diems, staff mission expenses, and the reconciliation of personal staff travel expenses.
Verify the monthly invoices submitted by the travel agent to ensure correct routing and invoicing as indicated in the travel services contract.
Maintaining and filing all relevant documents for ease of accessibility, and any other duties as may be assigned to the candidate by management.
Qualifications, Skills, Knowledge and Attitude
Bachelor’s degree and a post-graduate degree in Business Administration, Management, or Tourism or relevant field.
Ability to communicate and function in a culturally diverse, change-oriented setting as well as negotiate and seek solutions for difficult problems.
Excellent at building relations and networks, both internal and external, and be able to network with relevant Suppliers
Good knowledge of the operations of hotel providers and Travel Agencies as well as diplomatic practices, privileges, and immunities
High level of integrity and confidentiality
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and proficiency or good working knowledge of the Bank's other working languages (French, Arabic, and Portuguese) is an added advantage
Excellent computer skills
Ability to work under minimum supervision and to multi-task
Good team spirit, and ability to contribute productively as a team member
