Deputy Country General Manager

Our client is a regional leader in the automotive sector; It represents one of the world’s leading auto brands as the sole agent. It is seeking to hire a Deputy Country General Manager for Egypt.

The objective of the new position:

The Deputy Country Manager will provide support to the Country General Manager in the implementation of the business plan for Egypt’s operation and strategy. This role includes ensuring standard operating procedures are in place for effective implementation, quality and cost-effectiveness control, and the development of knowledge management tools.

Main Responsibilities

  • Early recognition of business and market opportunities for the future and ensure market and competition observation.
  • Manage & develop the market position and profitability of the company in this specific geography (Egypt) in line with the company's values, strategy, group policies, and standards.
  • Guides Sales and Marketing Heads to develop business growth initiatives and expand market share.
  • Personal responsibility to maintain and develop a good relationship with key accounts and main distributors.
  • Ensure internal control and good practices are upheld, monitor budget spending, and advise the Country Manager on budget management.
  • Assist CGM in the definition and implementation of the strategic growth plan.
  • Support CGM on achieving financial targets and specific objectives.
  • Ensure good contract management is in place and ensure the company is in compliance with all local laws and follow up any contract non-compliance by the supplier.
  • Ensure synergetic collaboration and proper communication with all interfaces (Mainly Sales, Marketing, and CEX).
  • Support CGM office’s communication with the Regional HQ.
  • Oversee the digitization efforts for Marketing and Sales.
  • Operational management of day-to-day-business.



  • Minimum of 10+ years of experience preferably in the automotive or relevant industry that has a similar aggressive sales environment.
  • Good experience in managing a senior team and relationships with different stakeholders.
  • Strong experience in developing a team culture and developing strategies in addition to business plans.
  • The candidate must have an entrepreneurial set of skills with a proven track record of business development, with a good knowledge of automotive market trends in Egypt.
